About Peg

PEG (Peoples Engineered Garments) was born from a desire to create clothing that is simple, comfortable, and adaptable. Designed without complicated fastenings, PEG garments are made to expand and contract - embracing the natural changes in our bodies over time.

The name “PEG” also nods to the humble clothes peg, which flexes with ease and simplicity - just like my designs.

PEG was founded by me, Louise Wynne. My background is in 3D Design and Textiles. After working as a designer/maker for several years, I moved into further education, where I taught both 3D and Textile Design for over two decades.

I have now returned to my own creative practice. A course in Product Design rekindled my love for pattern cutting and led me to explore clothing design and PEG was born.

I work predominantly with natural fabrics, using deadstock materials whenever possible. Denim, in particular, is a favourite - an incredibly durable fabric that can last a lifetime. I like to think of the apock as the dress version of that go-to, comfy pair of jeans: timeless, reliable, and effortlessly wearable.

In 2021, I was invited by Andrea Lord of &made to exhibit my work at the Manchester Craft and Design Centre, where I am now proud to be an affiliate maker. We’re open to the public six days a week - come and visit!
